The mother of Pearl Joy Galve, the Bacolod student who was found dead in a sugarcane field in La Carlota City, filed a complaint against her live-in partner for the rape of her daughter before the Bacolod City Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday, Sept. 25, a National Bureau of Investigation official said.
Jennifer Galve filed a complaint against Rene John Nasis for rape in relation to Republic Act 7610, the special protection against child abuse, exploitation and discrimination act, William de Arca, NBI Bacolod executive officer, said.
Pearl Joy, 15, disappeared on July 29 and was found dead in a sugarcane field in La Carlota City on August 14.
An autopsy report showed that she had been beaten up and could have been strangulated.
De Arca said during the course of their investigation into the killing of Pearl Joy they discovered that she was sexually molested by Nasis.
There are several persons of interest in the killing of Pearl Joy, including Nasis, he said.
Nasis was last known to be staying in Barangay Handumanan in Bacolod City but they have no knowledge where he is now, de Arca said.*
