PVO: NegOcc brgys hit by pig deaths now 146

The number of barangays in Negros Occidental hit by pig deaths caused by various diseases reached 146 in 18 local government units on Friday, June 30, the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) reported.

The two additional barangays are Talaban and Caradio-an in Himamaylan City.

The total pig deaths are 15,175 or 10.03 percent of Negros Occidental’s hog population causing losses of P171,340,900, the PVO said.

Hog raisers affected are 3,088, it added.*
