PRO-NIR seizes P5.4M in shabu in a week

The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region reported that P5.45 million worth of suspected shabu was seized in separate operations across the region in a week, from Nov. 17 to 23.

Data released by PRO-NIR on Monday, Nov. 24, showed that a total of 804.82 grams of suspected shabu were recovered in 45 anti-drug operations.

The police said 58 individuals were arrested for illegal drug offenses during the period.

Authorities also conducted 23 operations against loose firearms.

The operations resulted in three firearms accounted for, nine confiscated, 13 surrendered, two abandoned, and one explosive recovered.

Police also reported 10 anti-illegal gambling operations that led to the arrest of 21 individuals.

Meanwhile, 76 wanted persons were arrested in 76 manhunt operations across Negros Island.

The list includes 19 most-wanted persons at various levels and 57 other wanted individuals.*
