PRO-NIR seizes P3.9M in shabu

The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region recovered nearly P4 million in suspected shabu in weeklong anti-drug operations from Nov. 24 to 30.

A total of 587.385 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P3,994,218, were seized in 43 separate drug operations across the region.

Police reported that 56 individuals were arrested during these operations, reflecting what PRO-NIR described as a sustained and intensified crackdown on illegal drugs.

The report also showed that PRO-NIR conducted 25 operations against loose firearms during the same period.

Authorities accounted for three firearms, confiscated six, received four surrendered firearms, and recovered 15 explosives.

Police also conducted eight anti-illegal gambling operations that led to the arrest of 17 individuals and the confiscation of P1,725 in betting money.

Meanwhile, 51 wanted persons were arrested in 51 operations, including 12 most-wanted individuals and 39 on the other wanted list.*
