
Five police officers were honored by the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) for their outstanding performance in law enforcement, public safety, and professional development.
The awards were given during the flag-raising ceremony at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City on Monday, Sept. 15, led by PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas C. Ibay, Regional Director of PRO-NIR.
Awardees included LtCol. Florendo D. Fajardo and PSSg Fermel D. Ventula, who received the Medalya ng Kadakilaan for a July 15 anti-drug operation in San Jose, Negros Oriental, that led to the arrest of a high-value drug suspect and the seizure of 5.95 kilos of suspected shabu worth more than P40 million.
Maj. Sherwin M. Fernandez and PCMS Jorge M. Napilan were awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan for a July 21 manhunt in Manapla, Negros Occidental, which resulted in the arrest of the region’s No. 5 Most Wanted Person for multiple counts of statutory rape.
Capt. Everly B. Canto received the Medalya ng Kasanayan after topping her class in the Public Safety Officers Advance Course (PSOAC) at the National Police College.
PRO-NIR said the recognition of the five officers reflects the agency’s dedication to excellence, justice, and its continuing campaign against illegal drugs and criminality across Negros Island.*
