‘Power of Fourth’ shows full force for Ferrer’s congressional bid

”The Power of Fourth” came out in full force to support Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer who is running for congressman of the 4th District of Negros Occidental at his grand rally at the Manuel Y. Torres Sports Complex in Bago City on Tuesday, May 6.

Ferrer, who was celebrating his 56th birthday, began the day by attending a mass at the Our Lady of Peace Parish Church in La Carlota City with his wife, Rep. Juliet Ferrer, and his political allies followed by a caravan to Bago City.

The mayors of the Fourth District, including opposing mayoral candidates in La Carlota and Valladolid, came out in full force to show their support for Ferrer at his grand rally.

Present were Bago Mayor Nicholas Yulo who is running for board member of the 4th District, Bago mayoral bet Ramon Torres, La Carlota City Mayor Rex Jalandoon and his challenger Jose Luis Jalandoni, Valladolid candidates for mayor Ricardo Presbitero and Roel Yogore, Pulupandan Mayor Miguel Peña, Pontevedra Mayor Jose Maria Alonso and San Enrique Mayor Jilson Tubillara, Ferrer said.

Also present were Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and his runningmate Jose Benito Alonso, 4th District Board Member candidate Paula Alonso, and Abang Lingkod Partylist first nominee Manuel Frederick Ko.

Ferrer said with the huge support for his candidacy and the crowd of 23,000 at his grand rally, the election in the Fourth District is over.

Former Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development assistant secretary Lea Delfinado is challenging Ferrer for the 4th District congressional seat.

Ferrer pledged to continue the projects started by his wife, outgoing Rep. Juliet Ferrer, and implement more to improve the lives of the people of the Fourth District.

He will collaborate with the Fourth District mayors in pushing for legislation to address needs in their areas, bring in more projects to boost livelihoods and support measures to protect the environment, Ferrer said.*
