Pontevedra LGU records 100% negative results in random drug testing

A total of 232 government employees, including job order and contractual personnel, tested negative for illegal drugs during random drug testing conducted in Pontevedra town in Negros Occidental on Monday, Dec. 15.

The activity was held at the Pontevedra Municipal Gymnasium with assistance from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office–Negros Island Region Negros Occidental Provincial Office.

Officials said the testing covered regular employees as well as job order and contractual workers to ensure a comprehensive assessment of the local government workforce.

Results showed a 100 percent negative outcome.

The activity was led by Pontevedra Mayor Jose Maria Alonso and supported by PDEA RO–NIR, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Philippine National Police, and the Municipal Health Office.

Local officials said the initiative aims to promote a safe, healthy, and productive working environment for public servants.*
