Police seize over P3.2M worth of shabu in weeklong Negros Island operations

Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region operatives confiscated more than P3.2 million worth of suspected shabu during anti-illegal drugs operations conducted from Dec. 15 to 21.

The PRO-NIR reported that 30 anti-drug operations were carried out across the region, leading to the arrest of 63 suspects.

Authorities said the seized illegal drugs weighed 581.03 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of P3,211,004.

The police said the confiscation of the large volume of shabu dealt a significant blow to the supply of illegal drugs in communities across Negros Island.

Aside from anti-drug operations, the police also conducted five operations against illegal gambling, which led to the arrest of eight individuals and the confiscation of P888 in bet money.

In operations targeting loose firearms, authorities carried out 21 operations that resulted in the confiscation of three firearms, the surrender of 12s, the abandonment of one firearm, and the recovery of six explosives.

PRO NIR also reported the arrest of 49 wanted persons in 49 separate operations during the same period, including nine most wanted persons and 40 other wanted individuals.*
