
The police have identified the owner of the abandoned gray Hyundai Accent car found with a shattered windshield and traces of blood at a sugarcane field in Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran, Wednesday afternoon, October 29.
The vehicle belongs to Joy Dignadice, 42, a businesswoman who sells beauty products and resides in Canetown Subdivision, Barangay 19-A, Victorias City, the police said.
Based on Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) records, Dignadice is also a registered nurse.
Police investigation showed that Dignadice left her residence in Victorias City around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, and has not returned home since.
Her relatives told police that her mobile phone has been unreachable.
A concerned citizen reported the vehicle’s presence at around 3:58 p.m. Thursday, prompting Hinigaran Police Station cops to respond.
The police discovered that the car was parked irregularly beside a sugarcane plantation, facing east, with the windshield on the driver’s side broken, There were also bloodstains on the driver and passenger seats.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) have been requested to process the area and gather forensic evidence to determine the circumstances behind the incident.
The police are also reviewing CCTV footage along possible routes taken by the vehicle to establish the victim’s last movements.
Authorities said follow-up investigations are ongoing to locate Dignadice.*
