A senior citizen died after she was allegedly strangled by her son in Sitio Odiong, Brgy. Camandag, La Castellana town, Negros Occidental, on Saturday, Dec. 2.
The 68-year-old woman, a farmer, was found dead in her bedroom with strangulation marks on her neck, the police reported.
A plastic straw rope was found around her neck, which was used by the suspect in strangulating her, the police said.
The victim’s relatives also said that the suspect dragged and mauled his mother on Nov. 27 after the burial of the victim’s husband.
When the suspect got violent he would maul his parents, witnesses said.
The suspect was arrested after a pursuit operation and is now detained at the La Castellana Police Station.*
