Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Police Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, vowed that justice will be served to the slain drug operative of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).
In a video statement released Tuesday, August 31, Eleazar directed the local police to investigate the killing of SSgt Joseph Nepomuceno Jr., who was assigned at BCPO’s anti-drug unit.
Eleazar said all angles would be checked to determine the real motive behind the killing of Nepomuceno.
He said he ordered the BCPO and the Police Regional Office-6 to conduct a thorough investigation to capture the suspects.
The PNP chief vowed that justice would be served for the police officer.
He also expressed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family of the cop and ensured that all necessary assistance would be provided for them.
Eleazar also urged witnesses and individuals who may have information to come forward and help authorities bring the perpetrators to justice.
On Sunday, August 29, Nepomuceno was onboard his motorcycle when he was gunned down by unidentified suspects at Rosario Street in Barangay 38.
Meanwhile, PRO-6 director Brig. Gen. Rolando Miranda, BCPO director Col. Manuel Placido, and other police officials visited the family of Nepomuceno at Purok Dawis in Brgy. 14.
Miranda assured the victim’s family of swift and decisive action in serving justice to the slain cop. Financial assistance was also extended to his family.
He said that PRO-6 is “saddened by the loss of one of its dedicated personnel and a hard-working operative.”*
