A 44-year-old tricycle driver died after his vehicle was hit by a pickup truck at the national highway in Purok Cosmos, Brgy. Calumangan, Bago City, Negros Occidental, early Monday morning, Oct. 27.
The police identified the victim as “Leo”, a resident of Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City, and the pickup driver as “Dexter”, 47, of Brgy. Nanunga, Hinigaran.
The Ford Ranger driven by Dexter was heading toward Bago City from Bacolod when it rammed the rear of Leo’s tricycle, which was traveling in the same direction, a police report said.
Responding personnel from the Bago City Rescue Team rushed the tricycle driver to the Bago City Hospital where he was declared dead.
The pickup driver, who was unharmed, voluntarily surrendered to the authorities and is now under custody of the Bago police.
Both vehicles sustained damage.*
