
A 55-year old pick-up truck driver sustained minor injuries after his vehicle hit an electric post and overturned along Araneta Street, Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, Aug. 26.
Police identified the driver of the white Toyota Hilux as Marlo Deriada, of Southville Subdivision, Brgy. 39, Bacolod City.
According to the authorities, Deriada was driving northbound when he allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing his pick-up truck to plow into the electric post at a traffic median island before turning turtle.
He sustained minor injuries and was immediately given medical attention.
Traffic authorities meanwhile will further investigate the incident and will have to determine the cost of damage to the electric pole as well as to the vehicle.
