Another batch of scholars of the Negros Occidental provincial government graduated with Certificates in Educational Administration and Supervision at rites held at the University of St. La Salle–Bacolod on Friday, September 11.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson attended the event, together with Board Member Rita Gatuslao, chairperson of the SP Committee on Education; Negros Occidental Scholarship Program OIC Karen Sunday; DepEd Negros Occidental Schools Division Superintendent Gladys Amylaine Sales; USLS Chancellor Minnie Chua; and USLS Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Ricver Ureta, among others.
The scholarship is a three-semester program sponsored by the Negros Occidental provincial government in partnership with USLS and DepEd Negros Occidental, which aims to develop the competencies of school heads and improve the quality of education in public schools.
It aims to empower school heads with modern management strategies to elevate educational standards and foster community-driven learning environments, a provincial government statement said.
Representatives from participating academic divisions and partner institutions attended to honor the graduates’ commitment to leadership excellence.
Lacson said the scholarship reflects a shared vision of having schools led by capable and committed leaders who can respond to the changing needs of education.
He said investing in school heads is also an investment in the province’s education system, as effective school leadership plays a key role in improving teaching and learning outcomes.
He expressed hope that the graduates will apply the knowledge and skills they gained from the program in their respective schools and help create better learning opportunities for students.*
