PFF youth football  matches deliver wins in Bago, Victorias

The Olongapo City-Zambales FA edges Davao South RFA, 1-0, in the PFF U19 division in Victorias City, April 29.*

The 2026 Philippine Football Federation U16-U19 National Boys’ Championships opened in Negros Occidental on Wednesday, April 29, with eight opening-day matches producing big wins, close finishes, and a host victory.

The matches were held at the Manuel Y. Torres Sports Center in Bago City for the U16 division and in Victorias City for the U19 National Group Stage.

In the U16 division, Iloilo-Guimaras RFA delivered the biggest opening win after defeating Mount Apo RFA, 6-0.

Zamboanga del Norte-Dipolog RFA also opened strong with a 4-0 win over Misamis Occidental-Ozamiz FA.

Host Negros Occidental RFA survived Camiguin-Misamis Oriental RFA, 3-2, after Jeres Nengasca scored the winning goal in the 90th minute.

Golden Davao RFA also defeated Iligan-Lanao RFA, 2-0.

In the U19 division in Victorias City, Zamboanga del Norte-Dipolog RFA routed Misamis Occidental-Ozamiz FA, 6-2, behind a hat trick from Mark Jesson Borce.

South Cotabato-Sarangani-General Santos RFA defeated Mount Apo RFA, 4-1, while Province of Bohol RFA blanked Butuan-Agusan del Norte FA, 3-0.

Olongapo City-Zambales FA also edged Davao South RFA, 1-0, through a penalty by Christian Dave Bayog.

The twin tournaments gathered young football players from different regional football associations, with national team coaches also present to scout potential players.

The championships will continue in Negros Occidental with more group stage matches in the coming days.*
