Peñones new police reg’l director of WV, Wanky to Calabarzon

More than 20 ranking officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) got new assignments in the first major revamp in the police force under the leadership of its new chief, Gen. Nicolas Torre III.

The number includes four officials who were named new directors of Police Regional Offices (PROs), based on Torre’s directive which took effect on Thursday, June 19.

Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky was named the chief of the PRO 4A (Calabarzon), replacing Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, who was designated as deputy regional director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones replaced Wanky as chief of the PRO 6 (Western Visayas), while Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) officer in charge, Brig. Gen. Rolindo Suguilon, was named the director of the PRO 10 (Northern Mindanao).

Brig. Gen. Joseph Arguelles was designated as the new head of the PRO 11 (Davao Region).

Meanwhile, PRO 1 (Ilocos) director Brig. Gen. Lou Evangelista was reassigned to the Directorate for Logistics while PRO 2 (Cagayan Valley) director Brig. Antonio Marallag Jr. was moved to the Directorate for Operations.

In Metro Manila, Brig. Gen. Arnold Abad was named the new head of the Northern Police District, which covers the cities of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela; while Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo was designated as the new chief of the Southern Police District (SPD) with jurisdiction over the cities of Las Piñas, Makati, Muntinlupa, Parañaque City, Pasay, Taguig and the town of Pateros.

Other officials who got new assignments are:

–Maj. Gen. Robert Alexander Morico II – chief, Area Police Command-Visayas;

–Brig. Gen. Romeo Macapaz – acting director, CIDG;

–Brig. Gen. Frankie Candelario – Directorate for Intelligence;

–Brig. Gen. Jonas Amparo – PNP Retirement and Benefits Administration Service;

–Brig. Gen. Martin Defensor – Finance Service;

–Brig. Gen. Noel Vallo – chief, Logistics Support Service;

–Col. Felix Verbo, Jr. – chief, National Police Training Institute (NPTI);

–Brig. Gen. Melecio Buslig Jr. – deputy regional director for administration, PRO 4B (Mimaropa);

–Brig. Gen. Warren Gaspar Tolito – chief of staff, PNP Academy;

–Brig. Gen. Glicerio Cansilao – director, Anti-Kidnapping Group;

–Col. David Poklay, director – Intelligence Group;

–Brig. Gen. Christopher Abecia – director, Maritime Group;

–Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy – director, Aviation Security Group;

–Brig. Gen. Edwin Quilates – director, Drug Enforcement Group

Torre said the reshuffle aims to strategically position officials.
