Thirty-eight former mass supporters denounced the Communist Terrorist Group and vowed full allegiance to the government during a Peace Rally at the Brgy Tabun-ac covered court in Toboso, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, November 18, a press release from the Army said.

The resident of barangays Tabun-ac and Bandila hoisted banners and placards bearing messages denouncing CNTs as purveyors of a useless and meaningless ideology followed by the burning of the CPP-NPA-NDF flag to show their withdrawal of support to the communist movement, the press released said.

Toboso Mayor Richard Jaojoco thanked the 79th Infantry Battalion, the Philippine National Police and other partner agencies for bringing peace in his municipality. He also reminded the residents of barangay Tabun-ac and Bandila to help the government in protecting their communities.

“Do not allow the NPA to manipulate and control you…Let us unite and help one another by convincing the rebels to surrender and avail of the government’s E-CLIP program so that we could attain genuine peace and progress in our community,” Jaojoco was quote as saying.*
