PDEA dismantles two drug dens in Negros, six suspects arrested

The drug bust in Sibulan, Negros Oriental.

Two suspected drug dens were dismantled in separate Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Island Region buy-bust operations in Sibulan, Negros Oriental, and Bacolod City on Monday, Dec. 8.

The PDEA seized 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 6 grams at around 2:05 p.m. in Purok 5, Brgy. Magatas, Sibulan.

Arrested were suspects identified only as “Roger,” 62, “Geraldine,” 39, and “Jiovani,” 36, of Brgy. Magatas, Sibulan.

Authorities also listed “Mary Ann,” a resident of Brgy. Magatas as at-large.

Drug paraphernalia, buy-bust money, several lighters, and aluminum foil strips were recovered from the area.

Earlier that day, PDEA teams also raided another suspected drug den in Progreso Village 1, Brgy. Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, at around 12:25 p.m.

Agents recovered five sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 11 grams, buy-bust money, improvised tooters, and coins.

Arrested were three suspects known only as “Long Hair,” 43; “Kent,” 34; and “Ray,” 34.

All six arrested individuals will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The PDEA said both operations were conducted with coordinating police units as part of their intensified campaign against illegal drug activities across Negros Island.*
