PCL–NegOcc holds yearend summit, assessment

The Philippine Councilors League–Negros Occidental held a yearend summit and assessment in the cities of Silay and Himamaylan on December 4-5.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, who was guest of honor, said that he truly appreciates the hardwork and commitment of the legislators of the province as their jobs have become tougher with the COVID-19 pandemic challenge.

“In the midst of struggles and challenges brought about by the pandemic, a higher level of expectation was lodged on elected officials, and it is rightfully so, for we have the solemn responsibility and accountability to rise according to the circumstances no matter the difficulty,” he said.

Lacson also said that the summit is a fitting platform to explore ways on how local legislators can find united and innovative measures to address the present challenges.

PCL–Negros Occidental is headed by Board Member Ryan Gamboa.

Other officers are Julius Martin Asistio, vice president; Rey Cordova, secretary general; Julie Ann Vasquez, treasurer; Miguel Zayco, auditor; Audie Malaga, public relations officer; Virgie Pastor, business manager; and directors Armando Alvarez, Rolin Meliton, Elizabeth Andrino, Janet Villafranca, Lorlan Evangelista, Mikaela Escalante, Victor Michael Javellana and Vicente Perez.*
