
The Philippine Coast Guard’s aerial and surface search and rescue mission for the captain of MV Devon Bay and a seaman from Negros Occidental was still ongoing on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
The search for the two Negrenses and their two companions has not ceased , it is still ongoing, PCG spokesperson Capt. Noemi Cayabyab told DIGICAST NEGROS.
The two missing Negrenses are Captain Elimar Jucal, originally from San Enrique but residing in Bacolod City, and Third Officer Jejanfer Partosa Marfa of Cadiz City.
They were on board the Singapore-flagged bulk carrier MV Devon Bay 141 nautical miles west of Sabangan Point in Agno Bay, Pangasinan, when it sank on January 22, the PCG said.
Two of the ship’s crew died and 15 were rescued, including two residents from the 6th District of Negros Occidental.*
