
Bacolod City will usher in its 85th Charter Day with a “Pagsug-alaw” at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) starting 7 p.m. Saturday, June 17.
The “Pasug-alaw” will feature barangay festival dance and a drum and bugle corps competitions to be capped with a fireworks display at midnight, city information officer Carmela Gamboa said.
An 85th Bacolod Charter Anniversary motorcade and program will be held on Sunday, June 18.
The motorcade, with floats, will start from the North East, North West, South East and South West of the city at 8 a.m. and converge at the BCGC grounds, Rodel Parcon, Executive Assistant to the Mayor, said.
The Charter Day Program at L’Fisher Hotel will start at 5 p.m., he added.
Taxpayers, outstanding employees and Ang Banwahanon Awards will be given.
There will also be an innovative award, the “I’ll Be the Change Award”, given to citizens who did a heroic act that involved getting out of their comfort zones, Parcon said.*
