The Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE) on Monday, December 19, thanked Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson for increasing the bonus of the Negros Occidental provincial government workers from P40,000 to P50,000.
Lacson is asking the Sangguniang Palalawigan to allow the provincial government to give an additional P10,000 for the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) of the Capitol employees to bring its total amount to P20,000, during its regular session on Tuesday, December 20.
The governor said he hopes the additional P10,000 can be released this week.
The governor is seeking the increase following an order issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. authorizing the grant of a one-time SRI at a uniform rate not exceeding P20,000.
The other bonuses of the provincial government employees this Christmas are the Collective Negotiation Incentive – P25,000, and Productivity Enhancement Incentive – P5,000.
Renelo Lastierre, PACE president, said they are thankful for the commitment of the governor to give the provincial government employees what is allowable under the law.
“It will be of great help to the Capitol workers,” he said.
He also noted that the governor has announced that the Performance Based Bonus of the provincial government employees will be released in January.
The maximum PBB that can be granted is 60 percent of an employee’s salary that will be sourced from the 2023 budget, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.*
