The construction of the 7-storey new Negros Occidental Provincial Administration Center at Aguinaldo Street in Bacolod City is about 70 percent complete, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said on Friday, April 11.
The construction of the building is targeted to be completed in June or August this year, but it is expected to be operational next year, he said.
The PAC will house most of the provincial government offices.
Furniture for the offices have already been chosen and are being purchased, Diaz said.
However, power, water, Internet connections and other interior details, as well as moving in may take some time that is why full operations are expected by next year, he said.
The new Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center building in Talisay City is also expected to be completed in April after which it can slowly be occupied, he said.
Meanwhile, the firm that leased the property where the old PAC is located to build as multi-use building has until before December 2025 to commence development of the property or face the possible rescinding of its contract, Diaz said.
The provincial government fully turned over the property two years ago so by December it should begin paying lease, he added.*
