P800K in shabu seized in two cities, one town

The suspected shabu seized in Bacolod City.*

About P800,000 worth of suspected shabu were confiscated in separate buy bust operations in two cities and a town in Negros Occidental on Wednesday, May 24, the police said.


The police said they seized P680,000 worth of suspected shabu in San Carlos City, P100,000 in Bacolod City, and P20,400 in La Castellana town.

In San Carlos, PLt. Col. Jesus Mesahon Jr. said they arrested Jocelyn Yaon, alias “Elyn”, 46, of Brgy. 5 during a buy bust operation.

They confiscated 12 sachets of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P680,000 from Yaon, he said.

In Bacolod, Ma. Theresa Mendoza, 45, of Purok Cadena de Amor, Brgy. 29, was also arrested in a similar operation, the police said.

Allegedly confiscated from Mendoza were eight sachets of suspected shabu valued at P100,000.

Meanwhile in La Castellana, Christopher Lauren, 21, was also arrested in a buy bust operation in Brgy. Lalagsan.

During the operation, the police recovered five sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P20,400 and suspected drug paraphernalia.

Lauren is currently under the custody of the La Castellana police.*
