
Police arrested a high-value individual and seized more than P782,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Bacolod City on Sunday, Jan. 4.
Authorities identified the suspect as alias “Jan,” 30, single and unemployed.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region said the operation was conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Bacolod City Police Office at Purok Magtiayon, Barangay 10.
Police said the operation was launched after receiving information from a confidential informant that the suspect was actively engaged in the sale of illegal drugs.
Validation revealed that the suspect was allegedly using a sari-sari store as a front for selling shabu, the police said.
With the assistance of a confidential informant and in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, police conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the suspect’s arrest.
Recovered from the suspect were several sachets of suspected shabu with a total estimated weight of about 115 grams.
The confiscated drug evidence was submitted to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
The suspect is currently detained at Police Station 2 of the Bacolod City Police Office and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
