
Authorities seized more than P741,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested two alleged drug pushers in separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City and San Carlos City last week.
The operations, conducted on July 15 and 16, resulted in the confiscation of about 109 grams of suspected shabu with a combined standard drug price of P741,200.
In Bacolod City, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office-Negros Island Region arrested a 60-year-old woman, identified only as alias “Edalyn,” during a buy-bust operation at Purok Kagaykay, Brgy. 2 shortly after midnight on July 15.
The operation was carried out by the PDEA RO-NIR Regional Special Enforcement Team with the Regional Office-NIR Special Intelligence Unit-Negros Occidental and the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit-NIR.
Authorities recovered 16 sachets containing about 56 grams of suspected shabu valued at P380,800.
Also seized were the buy-bust money and a coin purse.
Meanwhile, another buy-bust operation in Purok Sagingan, Brgy. Quezon, San Carlos City, on the afternoon of July 16 led to the arrest of a 42-year-old suspect identified only as alias “Elizar.”
The operation was led by PDEA RO-NIR Negros Occidental Provincial Office in coordination with the PDEA RO-NIR Special Intelligence Unit-Negros Occidental, the PNP Drug Enforcement Unit of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, and the San Carlos Component City Police Station.
Recovered from the suspect were seven sachets containing about 53 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P360,400.
Authorities also confiscated the buy-bust money, a coin purse, a mobile phone, and a black Honda CRF motorcycle.
Cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against both suspects.*
