P7.6 billion 2026 budget proposed for Neg. Occ.

The Negros Occidental provincial government’s proposed 2026 Budget for the General Fund and the Economic Enterprise Development Department (EEDD) is P7.6 billion.

It is P1.1 billion or 17.98 percent higher than the 2025 budget, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said in the proposal that was submitted to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) through Vice Governor Jose Benito Alonso on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

The P7,618,490,053 includes P7,323,854,053 for the General Fund and P294,636,000 for the EEDD.

The proposed budget will come from local sources, including tax and non-tax revenue and charges amounting to P668.5 million, and the National Tax Allotment (NTA) of P6.6 billion.

Alonso presented the proposed budget to the SP during its regular session Tuesday afternoon and it was referred to the Committee on Finance headed by Board Member Marxlen dela Cruz for deliberation.

The SP budget deliberations is expected to be completed before the end of November, Alonso said.

Alonso said the National Tax Allotments of all local government units for next year have increased.
