
About 100 grams of suspected shabu worth P680,000 were recovered during a buy-bust operation in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
The operation was conducted by personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Island Region Regional Special Enforcement Team and the Kabankalan City police at around 12:30 a.m. in Brgy. Binicuil.
Authorities recovered 20 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of 100 grams and a standard drug price of P680,000.
Also recovered during the operation were two bank deposit slips, a coin purse, a Tax Identification Number card, and a white Toyota Fortuner together with its certificate of registration and official receipt.
Police said two suspects managed to evade arrest after allegedly noticing the presence of anti-drug operatives.
The identities of the suspects were not immediately disclosed.
Authorities are continuing follow-up investigation and legal procedures in connection with the seized drugs, vehicle and other recovered items, while efforts to locate the two suspects are ongoing.*
