P680K in shabu seized in Bacolod

The police arrested a drug suspect and confiscated P680,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation at Roxas Avenue, Purok Lilac, Brgy. 40, Bacolod City, Friday night, Oct. 2.

The suspect, identified as alias “Akil” or “Kwa-Kwa,” 41, of Brgy. Mandalagan, was arrested by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).

Recovered from his possession were one sachet of suspected shabu sold to a poseur buyer, seven other sachets and two knot-tied plastic bags containing the same substance, a P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, and other non-drug items.

Authorities estimated the total shabu seized at around 100 grams.

The suspect is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
