Authorities seized an estimated P510,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested a pedicab driver in a joint buy-bust operation in Brgy. Zone 9, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday afternoon, July 29.
The suspect, alias “Teptep,” 37, single, and a resident of Purok Maghili-ugyon, was caught after selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer.
The operation was conducted by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operations Unit 6 (PDEG SOU6), in coordination with the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU NOCPPO) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Negros Island Region (PDEA RO-NIR) Negros Occidental Provincial Office.
Police recovered one buy-bust item and nine additional heat-sealed sachets, along with one knot-tied sachet, all containing suspected shabu. The total seized drugs weighed around 75 grams.
The suspect is now in police custody and will be facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
