P50M deed of donation from Palace inked, Capitol to download funds to Tino-hit LGUs

The Negros Occidental provincial government will download P50 million to Typhoon Tino-hit local government units whose residents’ houses were destroyed and damaged, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said on Tuesday, Dec. 23.

The deed of donation for the P50 million from the Office of the President has been signed and the provincial government is just waiting for the documents so it can transfer the funds to the LGUs, he said.

The funds will be distributed equitably depending on the extent of damage per LGU, he said.

How the funds will be apportioned to affected residents will depend on the LGU, Diaz added.

The LGUs most affected by the typhoon are in the 4th and 5th Districts, he said.

He said they will work to hasten the release of the funds but there is only one more working day left until the end of the year, which is Friday, Dec. 26.*
