
Rep. Francisco Benitez (Negros Occidental, 3rd District) led the inauguration of the P47 million Malisbog Bridge in Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City, Tuesday, May 25.
The Malisbog Bridge spans 60 lineal meters or an area of 791.8 square meters, a press release said.
Benitez cited the joint effort of the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Silay City government, Barangay E. Lopez, the people of the community, the contractors, and the Congressional Office for making possible the construction of Malisbog Bridge.
Underscoring the importance of the bridge in connecting people to other communities, facilities and economic activities, he also stressed how such linkages make a difference in people’s lives.
It eases the transport of people and goods, he said.
Benitez was joined by Silay Mayor Mark Golez, DPWH District Engineer Abraham Villareal and E. Lopez Punong Barangay Ging Gallego.
Also present were former senator JV Ejercito, Silay Councilors Lyndon Bernardo, Edwin John Dennis Velez, Ramon Celebre, Andrew John Penuela, and Henry Belleza, and Guinhalaran Punong Barangay Toti Lopez.
