Police arrested a 20-year-old man and seized P240,000 worth of suspected marijuana in a buy-bust operation in Purok 3, Brgy. IV-Poblacion, Thursday evening, October 30.
The suspect, identified only by his alias “Yan-yan”, a jobless resident of the same barangay, was apprehended after handing over a plastic zip lock containing suspected marijuana to an undercover police officer in exchange for marked money.
Police said the confiscated marijuana weighed approximately 2,000 grams with a standard drug price (SDP) of P240,000.
The recovered drug evidence has been turned over to the Negros Occidental Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
Authorities are preparing charges against the suspect for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
