The police seized more than P2 million worth of suspected shabu in three separate anti-drug operations in Bacolod City on Friday and Saturday, November 28 and 29.

The first buy-bust took place at 4:29 a.m. on Friday in Purok Cereza South, Barangay 3.

The police arrested two suspects identified as alias “Butlog,” 19, and “Ethan,” 18, of Barangay 3.

Authorities said the operation stemmed from reports that “Butlog” was selling illegal drugs in several areas in the city.

The police seized about 150 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1,020,000.

At about 9:17 p.m. Police Station 8 cops also conducted another buy-bust operation in Purok Villa, Brgy. Tangub.

Arrested were two persons identified only as alias “Fran,” 18, and “Ann,” 26.

Police said the suspects yielded about 80 grams of suspected shabu worth P544,000.

A third operation followed in Purok Narra Baybay, Brgy. 8, shortly after midnight on Saturday, November 29.

Police Station 2 arrested “Mar,” 22, of Brgy. 12.

The police said the suspect was monitored selling illegal drugs in the area before the operation was set.

Recovered during the buy-bust were several sachets of suspected shabu, boodle money topped with a P1,000 bill, a sling bag, and ₱500 believed to be drug proceeds.

Authorities said the seized items weighed about 65 grams with an estimated value of P442,000.

The confiscated items were turned over to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.

PRO-NIR director Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay commended the Bacolod police for the successive operations.

The back-to-back arrests show the region’s continuing effort to curb drug activity in Negros Island, he said.*
