P2.65M worth of shabu seized, four drug suspects arrested

The police seized more than P2.6 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested four drug suspects in buy-bust operations in Bacolod City, Murcia town, and Kabankalan City on Friday, Jan. 17.

The suspects were identified as alias “Jeffrey,” 38, and alias “Fernando,” 39, both residents of Brgy. Tangub in Bacolod City, alias “Mark,” 26, of Brgy. Salvacion in Murcia, and alias “Kobe,” 21, of Hinigaran.

The Bacolod City Police Office said P1.87 million worth of suspected shabu weighing around 275 grams was seized during a buy-bust operation in Purok Crossing 8, Old Runway, Brgy. Tangub, at around 8:27 p.m. Friday.

The police said the operation was conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of Police Station 8.

In Murcia, operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office–Negros Island Region arrested a high-value drug suspect during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Salvacion at around 4 p.m.

Authorities said around 55 grams of suspected shabu with a standard value of P374,000 were seized, along with buy-bust money and a mobile phone.

In Kabankalan City, the police arrested another suspect during a buy-bust operation at around 11:15 p.m. at Phase 1, Villa Concha Subdivision in Brgy. Hilamonan.

Police said around 60 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱408,000 were confiscated, along with drug paraphernalia and cash.

Authorities said charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared.*
