
Bacolod police seized and received about P2.38 million worth of suspected shabu in two separate anti-drug operations in the city, it reported on Monday, June 1.
In Brgy. 2, a high-value individual was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by Police Station 2 operatives in Purok Sigay on May 27.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Shan,” 26, a resident of the area.
Authorities said the operation stemmed from information from a confidential informant that the suspect was allegedly engaged in illegal drug activities.
Police recovered about 200 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P1,360,000.
Seized during the operation were a black sling bag containing suspected shabu, four knot-tied plastic bags of suspected shabu, four heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu, and P12,000 buy-bust money.
The suspect is under the custody of Police Station 2 for documentation and filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, a woman voluntarily turned over about 150 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,020,000 to authorities in Purok Bangrus, Brgy. 1, Bacolod City.
Police identified the woman as alias “Pril.”
Authorities said the turnover was made after the aunt of alias “Pril,” the live-in partner of alias “Josh,” informed police that the father of “Josh” had gone to Police Station 8 and disclosed that his son allegedly admitted concealing the suspected illegal drugs.
Personnel of Police Station 2, in coordination with the Brgy. 1 punong barangay, proceeded to the area and received the surrendered items.
Recovered during the turnover were two knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing suspected shabu.
Police said the surrendered evidence was marked, documented, and handled for proper legal disposition.*
