The increase in the overnight parking fee at the Bacolod-Silay Airport from P200 to P600 a night is painful, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Monday, Feb. 9.
However, the governor noted that it is not only the Bacolod-Silay Airport that increased its rates, pointing out that parking fees at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport have also gone up.
He said it is good that the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod has sought the help of Bacolod Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez on the matter.
The Bacolod SP unanimously passed a resolution authored by Councilor Homer Bais requesting Benitez to intercede and look into the complaints regarding the “exorbitant increase” in the overnight parking fees at the Bacolod-Silay Airport.
Bais said there have been no visible improvements at the parking area despite the higher fees.*
