Over P5 million in Red Cross cash grants distributed to MPadilla typhoon-hit families

A total of P5,024,000 in multipurpose cash grants were distributed by the Philippine Red Cross  (PRC) to 628 beneficiaries in the municipality of Moises Padilla on Tuesday, April 7.

The distribution was held at the Central Philippine State University   – Moises Padilla Campus, led by the PRC in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross. The initiative forms part of the PRC’s Cash for Relief Program for communities affected by Typhoon Tino, a press release from Moises Padilla said.

Mayor Ella Garcia Yulo welcomed the PRC delegation headed by  Carlos Ganihong, chairman of the Board of Directors of the PRC Negros Occidental Chapter, along with  Rita Benita Mirasol, Administrator of PRC Negros Occidental.

The ceremony was led by PRC Negros Occidental Governor Jay Jalandoni together with board members Ryan Gamboa, Christine Toledo, Robert Javellana, Manolette Escalante, Arthur Yap, and Joan Guerrero.

To ensure proper beneficiary selection, the PRC—working closely with local communities—conducted thorough assessments and targeting to identify families most in need of assistance.

Through this process, each beneficiary from Barangays 1, 4, Crossing Magallon, and Magallon Cadre received P8,000.

Also present in support of the activity were Vice Mayor  Pimpoy Yulo , members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and barangay officials led by Liga ng mga Barangay President Francis Bernard Garcia.*
