Jeanette Patindol, 2018 Most Outstanding Negrosanon Awardee for Education and Literature, succumbed to a rare and fatal brainstem stroke at Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod City at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, surrounded by her family.
Patindol was 58 years old.
“Our beloved sister, Jeanette Patindol, was called home to the Lord after a rare and fatal brainstem stroke. She bravely endured seven days in the hospital, surrounded by the tender care of her children—Thea, Paolo, and Bea—as well as her indefatigable and wonderful doctors, nurses, caregivers, and the prayers of family and friends,” her sister, Honey Grace Catalan, said Friday.
“Jeanette was more than a sister to me; she was my first mentor, my first best friend, and a woman of substance, brilliance, and authenticity. At 58, she still had so much to give to her global community and to our province. Her sudden passing is a shock, and the pain is deep,” she added.
“I am grateful. Grateful to God for His amazing grace, which Jeanette herself always attributed glory to in every challenge and triumph. She lived with faith, courage, and fire—truly personifying Grace with Fire,” Catalan added.
Patindol was an educator, book author, and consultant.
Her wake will be at the St. Pio Resurrection Chapel, Sacred Heart Seminary, Lupit Church in Bacolod City:
- Saturday, August 15: Opens at 2 p.m., with Mass at 4 p.m.
- Sunday, August 16: Mass at 3:30 p.m.
- Monday, August 17: Mass at 4 p.m.*
