Sales at the 18th Negros Island Organic Farmers Festival at the South Capitol Road in Bacolod City hit more than P2 million on Saturday, Provincial Agriculturist Dina Genzola said.

She did not have the sales figure for Sunday, the last day of the festival, yet.

Sales on Nov. 19 was P329, 071, Nov. 20 – P417,804, Nov. 21 – P648,492 and Nov. 22 – P634,440, Genzola said.

Ramon Uy, RU Foundry and Machine Shop Corporation owner, bought up the remaining farmers produce amounting to about P120,000 on Sunday afternoon so they would not have to bring their unsold fruits and vegetables back home.

Uy said he would donate the produce he purchased to institutions that were victims of Typhoon “Tino”.*
