One Manhattan: Bacolod’s first smart home condo dev’t

Harold Geronimo, Megaworld first vice president and head of PR and media affairs, led a media tour of One Manhattan on Friday.

One Manhattan, Megaworld’s third residential condominium inside the 34-hectare The Upper East township in Bacolod, is  the city’s first smart home condo development.

The 14-story condominium introduces a modern architectural design and a curated mix of lifestyle amenities, many of which are being offered for the first time in the city, said Harold Geronimo, Megaworld first vice president and head of PR and media affairs, who led a media tour of the building on Friday, Oct. 3.

One Manhattan, located at the corner of Manhattan and Lexington streets, offers a total of 260 residential units. The building dedicates 12 floors to residences, with two levels reserved for parking.

The development has seen significant appreciation since its launch. The average price at One Manhattan has increased by 44 percent, rising from a pre-construction price of P154,000 per square meter in 2020 to approximately P222,000 per sqm today, Geronimo said.

With the building now complete, buyers are expected to begin occupying their units by early next year, he said.

One Manhattan features an extensive list of amenities for residents, including adult and kiddie pools, an outdoor jacuzzi, and a pool deck,  and a gym with a mini oval track, a wall climbing area, a putting green, and a dance/yoga studio.

It also has a function room with a spill-over area, a game room, a private dining room with outdoor lounges,  a roofdeck bar and lounge area, outdoor play areas, reading nooks, and seating lounges.

Geronimo added that Megaworld will soon begin construction on The Upper East Mall, alongside various leisure, recreational, and sports facilities, which are currently in high demand.

Megaworld’s vision for The Upper East extends beyond a central business district, they plan to make it a tourism destination, Geronimo said.

The company is now a member of the Bacolod Tourism Council, reflecting its commitment to helping boost tourism in the city by incorporating tourism facilities into the township development, he said.*
