The Nationalist People’s Coalition will support former governor Isidro “Elpidio” Zayco should he decide to run for mayor of Kabankalan City in the 2025 polls, Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
“We’re just waiting for him to file his certificate of candidacy”, Lacson said.
Lacson said he and Zayco attended an NPC gathering in Manila Monday night. “He knows very well that when he decides to run, NPC will be behind him,” Lacson said.
Love Negros will also be definitely behind him, he added.
Zayco is also a former mayor of Kabankalan City.
Kabankalan Mayor Benjie Miranda said he is seeking reelection in 2025.
Board Member Valentino Miguel Alonso of the United Negros Alliance is also expected to join the Kabankalan mayoral race.*
