The New People’s Army has owned the killing of two men in Negros Occidental, both of whom they accused of being military assets.
The Armando Sumayang Jr. Command– Southwest Negros Guerrilla Front said they executed Garde Francisco inside his home in Sitio Lumbia, Brgy. Kamansi, Kabankalan City, on Friday, Oct. 3.
The rebel group alleged that Francisco, a former NPA member who surrendered to the government, became an asset of the 15th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.
The NPA claimed that Francisco was involved in several military operations against their ranks, including the deaths of National Democratic Front–Negros consultant Ericson Acosta and Joseph Jimenez in 2022, and the killing of seven NPA members in Kabankalan City earlier this year.
They said his death was a punishment sanctioned by their revolutionary court.
Meanwhile, the Roselyn Jean Pelle Command–NPA also claimed the killing of Anacito Mahinay, alias “Dongkoy,” in Sitio Basag, Brgy. Tigbao, Calatrava, on October 2.
The group accused Mahinay of being an asset of the 79th Infantry Battalion.
They also alleged that he had a history of domestic violence.*
