The New People’s Army (NPA) owned the killing of a tricycle driver in Sitio Timis, Brgy. General Luna, Toboso, Negros Occidental, early Tuesday morning, July 1.
Enrique Virtucio, 64, of Brgy. General Luna was shot to death by three unidentified suspects inside his house, the police said.
The police recovered six empty shells of 9mm firearms.
The Roselyn Jean Pelle Command of the NPA, in a statement issued Tuesday, said that the victim was among the people who raided the rebels in Sitio Bairan on March 18 and was an informant of the Army.
The NPA also said that the victim was with Elias Palay during the raid, whom they had also executed.
Capt. Judesses Catalogo, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office spokesperson, said that it is considered a senseless killing when they kill an individual without undergoing due process.*.
