The Leonardo Panaligan Command (LPC) of the New People’s Army on Friday, April 26, claimed the killing of a resident of Sitio Coyaoyao, Brgy. Inolingan, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.
Tongkai Golez, 37, died and his 9-year-old daughter was injured after they were shot by three unidentified suspects at their house in Sitio Coyaoyao at about 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, the police reported.
Police investigation revealed that while the victim and his family were inside their house, the suspects appeared and asked for water.
When Golez opened the door, a man armed with a long firearm, shot him several times and his companion entered the house and shot him, too, causing his death.
Golez’s daughter was hit by a stray bullet and sustained an injury in her right hand.
The LPC said Golez was killed because he was an asset of the 62nd Infantry Battalion.*
