The Leonardo Panaligan Command of the New People’s Army on Tuesday, June 24, claimed the killing of a barangay tanod who it alleged was a military asset.

Ronald Jacolbe, 39, was killed in Sitio Sumilang, Brgy. Tacpao, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, on Sunday, June 22.

He was executed for being a spy of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the NPA said.

Jacolbe reported and guided the 62nd IB troops who raided an NPA unit in Sitio Lupo, Barangay Humay-humay, Guihulngan on May 1, the rebel group claimed.*
