The Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO) served the tenants of two stalls at the Manokan Country notices to pay and vacate on Tuesday, January 10.
The two were served the notices for failure to pay arrears on their rent for years, and despite a compromise agreement reached in 2022.
The CLO Enforcement Team found the stall of Rosenie Jaranilla closed.
Their electricity had been cut off since November, Jaranilla said.
Allan Penaflorida was not at his stall and his caretaker said he was looking for a way to pay the city government.
City Treasurer’s Office records show that the two owe the city government more than P1 million.
The two were given 15 days to pay or vacate their stalls.*
