Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO) electricity rates increased by P1.0260 per kilowatt-hour in November, or from P12.1874 in October to P13.213/kWh.
NONECO said that the hike was caused by the increase of market prices in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) by P1.2298/kWh, for a total of P7.8364 from P6.6066/kWh.
It was the highest electricity rate increase compared to the two other electric cooperatives in Negros Occidental in November.*
