No vigilante groups in NegOcc: NOCPPO

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) on Tuesday, Nov. 14, debunked claims that vigilante groups exist in Bacolod City and in the province, following the recent killing of two suspected “Akyat Bahay” members.

Maj. Rhojn Darrel Nigos , NOCPPO spokesperson, said that there were no vigilante groups monitored in Bacolod and Neg. Occ., and denied that vigilantes were behind the killing of Kenneth Jamandre and Nobert Belonio Aguda in Bacolod on Nov. 10.

“We assure that our police stations and personnel are doing their best to sustain peace and order”, Nigos said at a NOCPPO press conference.

He also said that NOCPPO is in close coordination with other agencies and communities to monitor and ensure security.

NOCPPO will help solve the killing of Jamandre and Aguda through case reviews and analysis if there are similar incidents outside of Bacolod, Nigos said.*
