No lockdown declared in WV

No lockdown has been declared in Western Visayas, all flights and sea vessel trips continue to cater to essential travelers and returning residents from areas not covered by National Inter-Agency Task Force Resolution 104.

This was clarified by Juan Jovian Ingeniero, Western Visayas Inter-Agency Task Force chair, and Roberto Jose Nuñez, Regional Task Force on COVID-19 chair, in a joint statement Tuesday, March 23.

They said their advisory issued earlier merely adopted the provisions of national IATF Resolution 104 that states that only essential travelers from the National Capital Region and its travel bubble circuit that includes Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal, will be allowed to travel in and out of WV from March 23 to April 4.

The essential travelers include health and emergency frontline services personnel, government officials and frontline personnel, duly-authorized humanitarian assistance actors, persons travelling for medical or humanitarian reasons, persons going to the airport for travel abroad, any one crossing zones for work and business, and overseas Filipinos, they said.

All other travelers not coming from the NCR and its travel bubble circuit are allowed to enter Region 6 subject to local government unit health protocols and travel requirements, they added.

They said the public is advised to refrain from spreading unverified information.

They also appealed to everyone to continuously adhere to the health and safety protocols set by the authorities.*
